I am so thankful that I was able to travel to El Salvador with PFCAC as a member of the November 2010 team. This was an experience that I will treasure for the rest of my life.

Along with numberous doctors and medical staff, peace corp volunteers and Salvadorian health care promoters, PFCAC provided medical services including dentistry, general medicine, pediatrics, visual acuity and for the first time - women's health to five remote communities in the hills of El Salvador. While traveling along mountain roads on the back of a pick up truck, I knew that I was blessed to be a member of such an extraordinary team.

My role was to be an asistant for the womens health group including two nurses and one PA who provided educational sessions and cancer screenings for breast and cervical health. We even taught the women who attended the classes how to do self breast exams - many had never before learned this life saving technique.

Through PFCAC efforts, women in these communties were empowered to understand and take care of their own bodies. I saw first hand how PFCAC provides services that are both sustainable and life altering.

My trip with PFCAC was humbling and inspirational. I am hooked and intend to be a life long membIer and supporter! Thank you PFCAC for all you give and all you have given me.
